Randori toernooien zijn sinds een paar jaar in de judosport gekomen, omdat er met de reguliere wedstrijden veel kosten (inschrijfgeld, reiskosten, entreegeld tribunes), veel reistijd en -door de weging- veel wachttijd gemoeid zijn. Daarbij is de prestatiedruk voor kinderen vaak hoog is en worden er bij verlies ook vaak maar een paar partijen gedraaid.
Met het randori systeem in de regio proberen we deze nadelen te ondervangen en de kinderen veel ervaring te geven met meerdere partijen, zonder al te veel prestatiedruk. Het puntensysteem is hierdoor ook afwijkend van de reguliere wedstrijden.
Judoka’s worden als gebruikelijk (zo goed als mogelijk) op basis van leeftijd en gewicht ingedeeld in poules. Doel is om minimaal 4 of 5 partijen te maken. Iedere partij duurt 2 min. ongeacht het resultaat. Er wordt steeds d.m.v. een geluidssignaal (bij ons de gong) tegelijkertijd op alle matten gestart en gestopt.
Bij iedere ‘wedstrijdmat’ is een begeleider aanwezig. De judoka’s bepalen aan het einde van de partij in kort onderling overleg wie de winnaar is. De begeleider kijkt of men er samen uitkomt, maar stuurt indien nodig bij, waardoor de einduitslag uiteindelijk kloppend is. De winnaar wordt bepaald op basis van het aantal scores, waarbij een houdgreep van 8 sec. als score geldt en iedere worp waarbij gebruikelijk ippon of waza-ari (en voorheen yugho) zou gelden. (In een reguliere partij is een houdgreep van 20 sec. of snelle worp op de rug goed voor een ippon, waarmee de maximale score is behaald en de partij stopt.) De judoka’s gaan samen naar te tafel en geven hun punten door. De winnaar krijgt 5 punten, de verliezer 2 punten en bij gelijkspel ieder 3 punten.
Alle judoka’s dragen i.p.v. hun eigen graduatie een witte band (dit mag met een gekleurde slip zijn) zodat iedereen ‘gelijkwaardig’ start. Er wordt tijdens de partijen niet gecoached. Tussen de partijen door kunnen coaches wel aanwijzingen geven.
Aan het einde worden uitsluitend het aantal behaalde punten opgeteld, dus niet het aantal gewonnen wedstrijden (wat wel gebruikelijk is bij het normale wedstrijdsysteem). Aan de hand hiervan eindigt een judoka in de 1e, 2e of 3e categorie. Dit is nog wel afhankelijk van het aantal deelnemers cq. het aantal gespeelde wedstrijden in de poule.
Afhankelijk van het verloop van de wedstrijden kan het dus zijn dat er meerdere judoka’s van één en dezelfde poule in b.v. de 1e categorie eindigen, maar ook dat er van een bepaalde categorie geen ‘prijswinnaars’ zijn. Aan het einde van het toernooi krijgen alle judoka’s een medaille en worden bij naam opgenoemd met het aantal behaalde punten.
Voor heel veel judoka’s van Judo Ryu Rijkse was het afgelopen zaterdag de eerste kennismaking met judowedstrijden. In een rustige ambiance werd hard gewerkt en verrassend mooie worpen en sterke houdgrepen gemaakt. Met een mooie medaille om de nek gingen alle judoka’s vrolijk naar huis.
